IT Senior Business Analyst - Commodities Front OfficeOur client is one of the worlds leading commodity trading companies in the world. They are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst with an in-depth understanding of commodities and experience in the Front Office to join a growing team responsible for their software solutions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for articulating and determining business requirements within the derivatives space, with a focus on Position Management and Mark-to-Market / Profit & Loss. The position will require a candidate with experience of working in the Front Office as a Business Analyst, and has a proven ability to bridge the gap between IT and the business with regards to Commodity software solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Stakeholder management to ensure the solution meets business requirements
- Act as the requirements authority (the source of truth) when clarification of the business process is required
- Logical design of the solution, including screen design & usability to optimise business processes
- Manage software delivery expectations throughout the development lifecycle
The following experience in required:
Essential:
- Proven ability to act as a bridge between the business and highly technical developers, translating business concepts into requirements that are implementable
- Expected to be a domain expert in: - position management and mark-to-market / profit & loss- pricing and risk, including real-time valuation
- Expected to have 10+ years experience of requirements analysis in a commercial environment
- Track record of working in a team that has delivered large scale applications written using C++, C# or Java, to agreed timescales and to agreed quality standards
Desirable:
- Broad knowledge of commodities trading, ideally for physical commodities
- Domain expert in at least one of the following areas:
- trade capture for physical commodity & derivative transactions
- trade confirmation management, including term sheet and confirmation/contract production
- physical commodity logistics
- position & risk management for physical commodity trading
- back office trade processing, including invoicing, payments and accounting
