Role: Procurement Development Manager
Location: London OrEdinburgh

Type: Contract

Rate: £250 per day

Lead and drive Supply Chain Services to continually develop and improve all areas of purchasing enabling Supply Chain Services to deliver world-class sourcing, maintaining its position as Global Leader across all sectors.
  • Drive Supply Chain Services activity to maintain its world class ranking through external benchmarking (such as ATK) and research, in order to provide best value.
  • Manage external benchmarking organisations relationships to ensure effective leadership and improvement activity to Supply Chain Services maintaining its position as Global Leader through external audit.
  • Aligned to external benchmarking, lead and drive the delivery of the Supply Chain Services business plan ensuring robust governance process and implementation of initiatives.
  • Ensure through innovative thinking and continuous improvement that an effective and efficient Strategic Sourcing Approach (SSA) is in place. Take steps to improve awareness and compliance by the Supply Chain Services business aligned category teams
  • * Present and deliver SSA training to all staff across Supply Chain Services.
  • * Ensure that investigative research/market intelligence is undertaken into leading edge practices, irrespective of sector and develop ideas as to how they can be adapted and adopted.
  • * Manage and implement various projects to drive improvement to close gaps/ adopt 'great' practices across all aspects of the procurement spectrum.
  • * To ensure valuable contribution to the development and management of a sourcing framework to support the Group's divestment activity.


Key Role Deliverables:
  • Through externally measured benchmarking (ATK), drive Supply Chain Services development and improvement in all areas of strategy, process, policy and capability to ensure their position as Global Leader across all sectors is maintained.
  • Accountability for the delivery of the Group wide Supply Chain Services business plan, defining and leading performance improvement initiatives measured through a robust process.
  • Responsible for the global implementation and compliance of Strategic Sourcing Approach at the highest levels across all businesses and geographies to maximise value for the Group and ensure effective and efficient framework for the Sourcing Group Managers team.
  • Develop and deliver education material to Supply Chain Services teams across all geographies to ensure consistency of process application.
  • Responsible for delivering specific projects through identification and diagnosis of Supply Chain Services challenges and issues to drive procurement improvement to close gaps/adopt 'great' practices.
  • Responsible for supporting the development and management of a sourcing framework to support the Group's divestment activity.


Experience:
  • Significant purchasing experience.
  • Proven ability to create, motivate and lead cross functional/geographical teams to deliver.
  • Track record of engagement and influencing at Senior /Exec levels.
  • Graduate level education. Post-graduate or relevant professional qualifications an advantage (e.g. CIPS).
  • Proven track record in project management and delivery.
  • Passion for delivering improvements, undertaking research and challenging status quo to drive improvement
