Contract SAS Senior Developer
Responsible for all SAS development activities required to deliver IS solutions that meet the Business needs i.e. develop quality software that works, complete development work within time, budget and standards, deliver on-going efficiencies and improvements across the development function, provide guidance & advice to Insight & Analytics users within the Business. (inc, SAS community)
Technical responsibility for their area of the software development process; Support the setting of standards for programming tools and techniques
Support the assessment of system requirements, identify and address any potential issues prior to implementation
Ensure component design meets the requirements; Oversee the integrity of development work
Undertake development work ensuring design principles are adhered to ; Complete development deliverables in a timely manner and to the appropriate level of quality
Experience required
- Strong knowledge of SAS 9, (Base SAS, Enterprise Guide, DI Studio and other SAS components such as Macro, Access for Oracle, ODBC etc.)
- Good working knowledge of Unix and Windows
- Experience of technical solution design & technical documentation (highly desirable)
- Understanding of Management Information
- SAS Open Metadata Architecture
Good understanding of how SAS products interact with third party products;
Experience in SQL reporting
- Understanding of basic Data Warehousing concepts
- Experience of other database and ETL tools such as Business Objects, Oracle etc.
