Job Title: Global Infrastructure Services Administrator
Job Type: Contract
Location: Mexico City, Mexico
Contract Rate: Negotiable Daily Rate, up to $300 plus expenses
Contract Length: 5 Months+

Our Client, one of the world's largest outsourcing and IT consultancies, is looking to recruit a contract Global Infrastructure Services Administrator to join their team in Mexico City, Mexico.

The Global Infrastructure Services Administrator will need to have the following experience.

· Database Admin (L1) - Entry level position. Works under close supervision to perform low-level database management tasks such as adding users, managing space etc. Participates in testing back-ups, ensuring maximum up-time and maximum performance of database. Familiarity with basic administrative commands is expected at this level. Front-line interaction with users to assist with low level trouble-shooting requirements.
· Database Admin (L2) - A fully contributing team member who performs database management tasks such as meeting user access requirements and resolving their problems. Responsible for ensuring that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly. Writes database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary with some general supervision. Front-line interaction with users to assist with escalated trouble-shooting requirements.
· Database High Availability (L3) - Knowledge of HA (High Availability - RAC / Cluster / Replication / DataGaurd/ Standby / Database Failover strategy / Database DR strategy / Flashback). How it is setup and configured, what happens during a fail-over, what happens during fail-back, when is it typically done, what are the steps a DBA should perform in the event of a fail-over and fail-back, etc.
· Database Performance Tuning (L3) - Good Knowledge in Performance Tuning (understanding SQL Server profiler and performance monitor. Understand performance counters. Understanding Query execution plans. Handling fragmentation, statistics and index related issues. Logical and Physical DB Design). Planning for Performance in Database design. Configurations parameter tuning.
· Database Backup and Recovery (L3) - Design, plan and implement Backup and Recovery Methods. Developing a backup and recovery strategy. DB2 UDB Advanced Recovery for Multiple Partition Databases. Identify type of dFrequency of data changes, how quickly the recovery needs to be done, identifying which backup solution to use, storage needs. (RMAN / Native Tools).
· Infra Storage Administration (L1) - Basic knowledge of Storage devices, RAID, Storage device connectivity, Networked Storage topologies, Storage protocols, Storage management, File Systems, Data Management, Data backup and Data protection.
· Oracle Admin (L2) - Understand New Features in 10G. Generate Explain Plan, Interpreting TKPROF Output. Interpret Statspack report. Familiar with init.ora parameters. Create, rename a database. Partition Tables and Indexes. Move databases between servers, plan and size databases. Re-org of Database. Refresh Database using cold backup, hot backup & export/import. Maintain standby database. Manage Oracle Streams. Troubleshoot CPU Load and resolve it. Generate Statistics for the tables, partitioned tables, sub-partitioned tables & troubleshoot issues related to statistics. Troubleshoot issues like Database hanging, issues with undo table spaces, segments. Be able to Tune SQL, SGA. Perform hot backup, cold backup. Export, import, recover under various scenarious (like recovery of a corrupted database when the db runs in archive log mode, recovery of table data when a user accidently drops it, etc).
· Spanish Language.
· DataStage Admin (L1).

All candidates must be strong Global Infrastructure Services Administrators with in depth knowledge of Database Admin, Database Performance Tuning, Database Backup and Recovery and Oracle Admin.
