Skills and experience required
- Managing large scale information architecture design
- Experience designing information architecture to drive a great customer experience on online systems/products - inc. search engine optimisation, taxonomy structure etc
- Working within a global programme governance with multiple global virtual teams - inc. facilitating cross-time zone discussions and decision making
- Working with technical delivery and editorial teams to ensure that the solution delivers against the required information architecture
- Benefit to have experience working for online publisher or in legal sector.
- Working with senior stakeholders to promote the benefits of information architecture
- Working with demanding senior stakeholders to understand objectives and needs and to negotiate consensus
- Working with project managers to review delivery and manage risks/issues associated with implementation of information architecture
- Developing testing approaches (eg management of system/process testing, UAT).
Key result areas
- A primary objective is to design information architecture to support the best possible customer experience and support the different styles of information retrieval. Information needs to be optimised both for browsing through and retrieving via search engines. The content needs to be optimised for a digital experience
- Translate strategic customer & product requirements into usable information architecture, which may include an enterprise data model, associated meta-model, common business vocabulary, ontologies, and taxonomies, which will then be used to guide enterprise solution development and achieve consistency of information assets across the organization.
- Ensure that there is a meta-model management and repository strategy to manage all information architecture artefacts
- Develop, communicate and support the implementation of corporate policies, standards, and procedures that provide effective architecture, governance and management of information/data assets
- Develop information architecture roadmaps towards the future state information architecture
- Co-ordinate with all teams working on delivering changes to information and supporting information systems to ensure solutions meeting requirements and that a consistent approach is being followed
- Work closely with solution delivery and enterprise architecture to ensure effective implementation of Information Architecture strategies and that information architecture maps to the enterprise architecture
