About the Role
This company is seeking several experienced Network Support Engineers, to work onsite with one of their high profile clients who specialise in the financial and banking industry. You will be responsible for supporting the data network, particularly in relation to LAN, WAN, Firewalls etc.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Network Troubleshooting
- Initiate, Implement and Support Problem/Change Requests
- Support Data Projects (LAN/WAN) within region as required.
- Traffic engineering, hardware/software configuration, diversity analysis, disaster recovery analysis, utilization analysis, network implementation, problem management and general subject matter expertise.
- Escalation point for any implementation issues
Skills and experience
- Advanced WAN troubleshooting/problem determination (Frame Relay, ISDN, ATM, and Private Line);
- LAN troubleshooting/problem determination (Ethernet, VTP, Token Ring, HSRP);
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco and/or Nortel Router troubleshooting/problem determination and maintenance
- Excellent understanding of routing and routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, etc.) and
- Advanced understanding of TCP/IP. Unix user skills.
