IT Portfolio Architect

This is a 12 month Contract opportunity.

In this IT Portfolio Architect role, the person will collaborate with the IT Portfolio Group Lead, the team and the business clients to create a strategic roadmap for the IT Portfolio that will be used to transform it from its current state to a desired future state.

The IT Portfolio Architect will work with a handful of clients (Environment, Health & Safety; Military; Regulatory Affairs) to holistically manage the planning, delivery and operation of IT technology and information within this portfolio.

To manage IT Portfolio delivery, the IT Portfolio Architect participates in the generation of project proposals derived from the IT Portfolio roadmap and provides Solution Architecture services for the resulting projects. To manage IT Portfolio operations, the IT Portfolio Architect participates in applying Application Portfolio Management for this Portfolio. The IT Portfolio Architect maintains a challenging role as a member of both the Enterprise Architecture and IT Portfolio team.

Specific Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related
• 7+ years experience progressively advancing experience in IT projects in technical roles
• Strong understanding of application development and system development life cycle
• 4+ years experience working as an IT Architect
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and assume a position of leadership in the development of systems and business architectures
• Experience with commercial Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) tools such as Informatica, Business Objects Data Integrator and SAP Data Services
• Proven experience in architecture and data modelling
• Experience in the development of data warehousing principles, standards and best practices
• Knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehouse concepts and data specific architectures
• Proficient building and maintaining data warehouse or data mart reporting and ad-hoc querying systems
• Proficient in developing Business Objects Business Intelligence Platform 4 solutions
• Proficient collecting business requirements for the development of information management structures such as data marts
• Proficient with diagnosing and troubleshooting problems with data Extract Transformation and Load, data quality, and storage and reporting structures
• Proficient with Oracle SQL, and PL/SQL languages
• Experience in full SDLC with applications and systems integration experience
• Proficient with architecting a solution design for COTS and other system implementations
• Understanding of different types of integration patterns and experience with point to point and enterprise wide integration initiatives
