Subscription Analyst - 45-50K - Central London - Permanent - Media

Subscription Analyst required by leading and global Entertainment Company based in Central London.

The role is responsible for providing commercial insight and business modelling across the company's subscription services. This person will act as a business partner to help develop insight and formulate strategy for growing Games and Music subscriber base. The position will also provide reporting and analytical support for the Store as needed.

The person will need to be able to translate business requirements into models that can be developed by the BI team and evolve the reporting capabilities. This will be achieved by working closely with the BI team in order to leverage the analytical/reporting tools available.

Your role will comprise:

A planning & reporting function:

* Reporting on monthly subscriber performance, providing commentary on acquisition, retention, and churn

* Developing a set of reports/dashboards to help monitor performance/trends

* Developing a business model that tracks and reforecasts the active subscriber base over the fiscal year

* Assisting the BI team to develop a robust subscription model in Microstrategy to facilitate reporting

Insight & Analysis:

* Being able to interpret large volumes of sales data and identify key consumer trends

* Raising awareness of data available by generating meaningful insight that can be both used internally/externally

* Generating ad-hoc insight/analysis that look to challenge the business and make recommendations to senior management

* Evaluating the worth of PS+/Music subscribers vs non-subscribers in terms of ARPPU, total spend, and engagement

* Actively look to develop insight into consumer behaviour and share learnings with the wider business units

* Providing analytical, data mining and discovery capabilities across Music & Games subscription business

* Customer life time value segmentation analysis - an ongoing overview of subscribers by channel, acquisition period including their spend behaviour outside of subscriptions

* Analysis on overall customer trends - renewals vs new acquisitions. Understand consumer behaviour into why people renewed, lapsed or came back

Providing Commercial Support:

* Analysing the effectiveness of marketing campaigns in terms of conversion vs marketing investment

* Utilising analytics to help target potential subscribers via CRM activity

* Making recommendations on promotional mechanics used to acquire and retain customers

* Understanding the triggers as to why consumers may churn thus increasing retention rates

* Content performance in partnership with content programmer a regular review of title uptake (paid & within Plus) before and after inclusion, associated DLC performance, performance by genre, seasonality, RRP, quality etc

A Team Focus:

* Strong team focus and ability to work across cross functional teams

* Able to demonstrate strong communication skills and an ability to influence others

Suitable candidates will have:

* Commercial sensibility with the ability to evaluate financial impact of business decisions

* Exceptional analytical quantitative, problem-solving, and decision making thinking skills

* 3+ year's experience in a commercial, analytical role with subscription focus

* 3+ year's experience in business intelligence supporting an e-commerce, B2C, B2B, or major information provider

* Global / Pan regional company in one of the below sectors:
Retail, Online services & E-commerce, or Entertainment business

* Systems knowledge:

Advanced knowledge of Excel and Access (VBA level an advantage) Commercial experience with BI reporting packages a plus e.g. Hyperion, Cognos, or Microstrategy(preferred)

Knowledge of web analytics tools a plus eg. Omniture (preferred), Webtrends, Google Analytics

* A Consumer focus

* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships

* Strong written & verbal communication skills, including the ability to present detailed analyses

* Organised self-starter, with drive and commitment. Able to work with little supervision

Desirable: Experience of digital products

* Professional experience or strong interest in gaming products

* Advanced subscription modelling

* SQL is beneficial however, not a prerequisite.
