System Administrator - Storage systems (SAN/NAS), VMware ESXEveris is an employee-owned multi-national consulting company offering business and strategy advisory, solutions integration, technological applications maintenance and outsourcing services. We are looking for a System Administrator with 8 years of experience in order to work at the European Commission.
REQUIREMENTS for System Administrator - Storage systems (SAN/NAS), VMware ESX:
• To be able to do the daily management of local servers (application, information systems, ...) in close operation with the Mise-En-Production (MEP) team and Database team (DBA).
• Knowledge of Windows 2008 and Windows Powershell.
• Fair knowledge of current versions Solaris. In the absence of this, at least a fair knowledge of other flavours of Unix/Linux.
• To able to do the management of backup procedures (preferably using Legato) and participate actively in the Disaster Recovery implementation of all DG Agriculture information systems. Experience in this domain is a plus.
• Knowledge of storage systems (SAN/NAS,...) is a plus. At least the basic principles should be known.
• The candidate should have a fair knowledge of virtualisation technologies, like VMware ESX and the possibilities to synchronise virtual machines to a disaster recovery site.
• To document all procedures used in the computerroom.
• To have proactive behaviour by proposing solutions and best practices.
• To implement these solutions after approval of DG Agriculture responsible officials.
• To keep the computer room and working area in a clean and ordered manner.
• To be prepared to work outside standard working hours (evening and weekends) at the request of DG Agriculture. This should only happen exceptionally but can be requested with a very short pre-notice. The standard procedures and rates, as foreseen in the framework contract, will be applied.
• To be able to understand and express him/her-self in English and French (Level B1 of common reference levels).
• To execute any other tasks corresponding to this profile and requested by the DG AGRICULTURE responsible officials.
LANGUAGES:
To have a fluent ENGLISH and FRENCH will be mandatory in order to work at the European Commission.
