Working as part of the Online & On Demand Service Delivery team, this is a key role in the infrastructure and applications that support ITV.com and ITV Player.

ITV.com and ITV Player are high traffic and technically diverse products and an important part of ITV’s transformation and strategic goals.

This role is responsible for integration, software deployment, problem management and deep technical troubleshooting in the Linux and networking environment as part of the 3rd line support function. Additionally this role will be a Linux specialist within the team and ensure that software is released in a consistent and repeatable process across all technology environments to support the development and product launch goals of the Online & On Demand business

Exceptional Puppet skills are required for this role.

This work may be project based or time critical, and can be hands on or in an advisory role. In order to drive quality, the department has a specific focus on process automation. A background in scripting, automation and centralised configuration management is considered essential.

You will support the 1st and 2nd line support teams and ensure effective handover and knowledge transfer of new projects.

As part of a roster you will provide 3rd line on call escalation for major technical incidents that cannot be resolved by the other support functions.

Effective communication of options to senior non-technical staff and junior technical staff is fundamental to the success of the 3rd line support function.
