Description

The Senior SAS Programmer has a unique role in the company as a technical expert in the department as well as a consultant on difficult technical issues. In addition, this individual provides technical leadership to the department for statistical programming, creating infrastructure standards and SOPs and works closely with a highly skilled and diverse group of statisticians, researchers and physicians to support state of the art analyses of laboratory, clinical, and gene expression data in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

Other Responsibilities:

- Ensure completion of specified statistical programming outputs in support of clinical studies and other projects involving multi-disciplinary teams in clinical research and development

- Employ standard Project Management techniques for both efficient completion of assigned projects and for project status communication

- Define, document, and maintain standards for development, testing, validation, and maintenance of reusable programming code

- Lead development and maintenance of a programming code library for production of datasets, analyses, and result summaries

- Partner with statistical colleagues to develop state of the art programming code for gene research and discovery

- Provide leadership in scientific programming methodologies

- Works on extremely complex, often unique and significant problems

Requirements:

- Demonstrated expert knowledge of SAS programming language, including SAS Base/Macro/SQL/STAT/Graph/ODS

- Familiarity with the regulatory process and requirements for electronic submissions

- 6+ years of experience working in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, including leadership/management experience

- Ability to effectively maintain open communication with internal employees, managers and customers as needed
