Description
We are looking to fill an open engineering position with a smart individual who wants to solve today's problems with tomorrows technologies. As part of the job, you will help to prototype, develop, and support new technology stacks to be used by the entire organization. The candidate should be able to communicate and collaborate in a team setting with other developers, analysts, project managers, and end-users. Interactions with traders, analysts, and portfolio managers may be required so good communication skills are a must.Primary Responsibilities:
- Work in a small, focused team of like-minded technologists.
- Prototype, engineer, produce, and support new technology frameworks.
- Facilitate the development of new data models for existing business data.
- Monitor systems for potential future deficiencies and plan ahead to resolve them.
- Consult with other development teams to help them follow best practices and requirements for using technologies developed.
- Provide production level support for core platforms provided by this group.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- College degree required
- 5 or more years of .NET, including C#, ASP, WCF
- Advanced object oriented programming concepts
- Practical understanding and use of distributed systems
- Practical understanding of AMQP and use of products that implement AMQP
- Solid DB/Data/SQL knowledge
- Experience with NoSQL technologies a plus
- Working knowledge of finance systems a plus
- Good verbal and written communication skills
