Contract opportunity to work with a global telecom consultancy.

Project Description:

Provide test and integration support in wireless within the Quality Assurance organization, work closely with Wireless Engineering/Architecture teams, vendors and the product development organizations to verify wireless products and services, develop testing strategies, compliance matrices, and test plans, translating product and services requirements into technical requirements.

Integrate Wi-Fi access point radio controllers with core network elements such as Cisco ASR 1004 running the ISG and the Lawful Intercept feature set, Cisco ASR 1004 running the Network Address Translation (NAT) and IPSec/VPN features, Cisco 7201 (LNS) running L2TP features, DHCP Servers delivering TFTP/SNTP/DNS and Cisco Catalyst 4900M, Juniper MX-80 and Nexus 3064 switching fabric aggregating the entire Wi-Fi complex. Work closely with cross-functional teams to validate architectural designs for wireless initiatives.

Testing includes qualification of Wi-Fi Core network comprising of Cisco & Juniper Routers, L2/3 Switches and Intelligent Gateways in Regional Data Center (RDC) environment.

Project Tasks:

  • Build & validate the wireless specific Cisco & Juniper configurations, integrate with other network elements within the QA wireless Lab in National Data Center environment (NDC), and verify end to end call flows in preparation for verifying features, functionalities, and performance.
  • Articulate system impact and assess priority of issues that are found during testing, and escalate to QA Lead when service-impacting issues arise and threaten schedule.
  • Configure Access Points (AP), monitor wireless connectivity and the backhaul transport network - underlying backhaul transport (DOCSIS, Ethernet, Optical, PON), and any supporting devices like AP  controllers or tunnel termination during the end to end testing.
  • Develop detailed test plans to verify end-to-end Wireless Architecture in collaboration with the different engineering organizations and products organizations, translating products and services requirements from different stakeholders into a cohesive set of tangible testing requirements, assess their feasibility and develop testing solutions to support them.
