Qualifications
Education & Experience
6+ years' experience as a visual designer, interaction designer, or a similar role.
Degree in a related field, such as Graphic/Visual Design, Interactive Design, Industrial Design, or Human Factors a plus.
Experience designing highly transactional websites or web-based applications.
Experience designing responsive/adaptive websites. Experience designing for European & US markets. Knowledge of internationalization design considerations.
Experience working within a distributed/remote team.
Familiarity with financial services.
Skills & Knowledge
Creativity, imagination and a sense of humor.
Strong knowledge of interaction design and methodology.
Knowledge of design principles and standards (including accessibility). Demonstrated experience using web analytics to inform design decisions.
Ability to communicate and demonstrate the value and rationale of design decisions to business and technology partners.
Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
Detail-oriented and highly developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Solid understanding of user research and user centered design.
In-depth understanding of HTML and CSS with the basics in HTML5.
Understanding of iOS, Android and WebOS platforms.
Expert skills in Fireworks, Photoshop and Illustrator image creation
Knowledge of animation, motion design and dynamic interaction skills.
Solid foundation in typography, layout, and general design. Experience designing in a responsive design environment is strongly preferred.
Experience with both traditional solution delivery methodologies, and with rapid, iterative solution delivery methods, such as Agile, a plus.
