Computer Futures are currently looking for a SAS Administrator for one of our key clients based in Central London.

This position needs to be filled immediately

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor production system for performance issues and avert where possible or mitigate any potential outages.

This requires liaising with Incident Management and other technical teams (Unix, Oracle, Networks, Web Services & Websphere).

Carry out performance tuning. This requires an in depth understanding of Linux, Websphere and Storage Area Networks (SAN) configuration options and parameters and their impact on the performance of the SAS platform as well as within the SAS applications.

Maintain, monitor and configure the IBM / Platform computing LSF / PM workload management batch processing system and intervene manually where needed. Must be comfortable managing LSF from the command line.

Identify issues and subsequently raise support tracks with SAS support.

Work closely with SAS technical account manager to escalate support tracks.

Plan and Implement Hotfixes.

Assist management team in planning product upgrade

ESSENTIAL technical skills
  • · SAS infrastructure knowledge.
  • · SAS Platform and Solutions administration.
  • ·IBM / Platform Computing LSF Administration.
    • · Production application support
    • · Linux (RHEL 5.x) administration skills, including knowledge of Kerberos / LDAP.
    • · Strong working knowledge of SAS Utilities
    • · Shell Scripting (Korn Shell / Bash, Python).
    • · Understand and design clustered file systems.
  • MySQL RDBMS administration.


Non technical skills
  • · Strong analytic skills and attention to detail
  • · Excellent time management
  • · Good interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) are required
  • The successful candidate will possess strong problem solving skills with an ability to develop innovative solutions to technical problems, in order to streamline management of the SAS Platform in an enterprise environment.
