Position Description:
*Design & develop innovative medical devices operating in a matrixed organization and interfacing with cross functional departments to meet program objectives and milestones.
Position Responsibilities
. Responsibility for RF generator development (includes new products as well as product changes & enhancements) in collaboration with OEM vendor(s).
. Complete projects and tasks in an aggressive manner consistent with corporate objectives. Actively participate in determining day-to-day tasks.
. Work closely with R&D team members to design and develop next generation products, including providing support for bench modelling and preclinical evaluations of new designs
. Ensure designs meet and exceed product specifications, regulatory requirements, and international safety standards such as IEC .
. Data analysis for power delivery, control and user interface algorithm development and refinement
. Conduct testing utilizing appropriate methodology & other experimental design tools. Generate accurate & thorough test protocols & reports.
. Write technical protocols/reports and other design control documentation in support of regulatory submissions
. Contribute to the intellectual property position of the company via invention & patent disclosures
. Maintain a comprehensive & accurate laboratory notebook, documenting of concepts, designs, drawings, & processes
. Maintain current knowledge of competitive technologies in addition to medical, technical, & biomedical developments related to Ardian's products
. Maintain current knowledge of process and design safety standards applicable to Ardian's products
. Provide engineering & technical support of products introduced into both the domestic & international markets
. Provide support in the resolution of product complaints &/or safety issues
Basic Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
. 7-10 years with Bachelors
. 5-8 years with Masters
. 3-6 years with Doctorate
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
. BS/MS/PhD Engineering; Electrical, Computer/Software, or Biomedical Engineering with electrical engineering focus preferred
*Mechanical Engineer or Biomedical with mechanical engineering focus, if experience demonstrates proficiency in hardware/software development
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
. Highly motivated hands-on engineer with a proven record of meeting timelines and goals
. Must possess strong analytical & problem solving skills
. Hardware and software development knowledge, including V&V activities and direct V&V protocol development
. Experience in electrical and/or computer engineering demonstrating the ability to apply general principles of physics and engineering to solve complex medical and engineering problems
. Working knowledge of C and object-oriented programming (Java, C++, etc.) preferred
. Working knowledge of LABView, Matlab, and/or other Scripting languages (eg, Python, PERL, etc.) preferred
. Working knowledge of Medical Device Quality System standards & regulations, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs & Clinical Affairs
. Familiarity with IEC 60601 and other relevant medical device standards
. Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Project
. Project management experience preferred
. Familiarity with FEA modelling, preferably multi-physics analysis including electromagnetic and thermodynamics preferred
. Familiarity with analog and digital design and development preferred
