Description
Represent the company in all aspects of construction field management and inspection of high voltage substation work.Primary duties include:
- Coordination and control of contractor labor resources relevant to substation project construction, including input on budgets, equipment, materials, estimates and schedules.
- Reports to, and seeks guidance from, the Project Manager on contract compliance issues and goal variances as they relate to quality, safety, budget and schedule
- Directs and demonstrates efforts to achieve world-class excellence regarding safe work practices and safety & environmental performance
- Assures compliance with OSHA, the company's Managing Contractor Safety & Environmental Policy, APM, and all other company procedures
- Ensures the safe and efficient performance of all substation project labor resources
- Responsible for monitoring the construction phase of transmission substation projects
- Responsible for contractor evaluations, project reconciliations, and close-out activities following completion of projects
- Will fulfil the requirements of Clearance Holder and "Clearance Requestor in accordance with applicable procedures for necessary system outages.
SKILLS:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or the equivalent work experience and eight (8) years of related experience are required.
- Experience in electric utility high voltage systems is required.
- Should have knowledge of applicable work practices and procedures and safety requirements, detailed knowledge of high voltage electrical construction practices and techniques, and demonstrate a strong understanding of electric utility operations.
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must be willing to provide support and guidance to other construction representatives
