My client is actively recruiting for an intelligent, goal oriented, creative and energetic individual with a broad IT background to fill the role of Senior IT Consultant (referred to below as the Consultant') based in Jakarta, Indonesia. This is a dynamic position that requires expert knowledge in Information Technology systems, technologies, methods, processes, organizations, and management. The Consultant will have the ability to inspire confidence in others through an ability to communicate technology effectively to individuals with varying degrees of technical expertise.

This is a senior leadership role accountable for providing on-going professional and strategic technical advice to business clients, downstream users, and third party vendors. The role encompasses client management, team leadership, technical and process consulting, project scheduling & management, administration, and communications. The Consultant will meet with clients, participate in and lead project meetings, create detailed project schedules, create and manage project correspondence, coordinate with client technical staff, and provide IT consulting services.

The consultant may be required to provide strategic guidance to organizations regarding technology, IT infrastructure and the enablement of major business processes through enhancements to IT. The Consultant may also provide procurement guidance during RFP development, selection and procurement, as well as providing expert technical assistance, and may be responsible for user training and feedback.

In order to be successful, the Consultant must also be comfortable making presentations to and gathering requirements from clients, while building strong client relationships. The Consultant may be involved in sales and business development, as well as the supervision and guidance of other consultants and contracted staff.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience working within the ICT industry and have experience in several diverse areas such as consulting, management, design, project management etc.

Responsibilities:

  • meeting with clients to determine requirements;
  • working with clients to define the scope of a project;
  • planning timescales and the resources needed;
  • clarifying a client's requirements, understanding their work practices and the nature of their business;
  • liaising with staff at all levels of a client organization;
  • analysing IT requirements and giving independent and objective advice on the use of IT;
  • assisting clients with management-of-change activities;
  • presenting solutions in written or oral reports;
  • preparing documentation and presenting progress reports to customers;
  • management and leadership of delivery teams engaged on project activities;
  • organizing training for users and other consultants;
  • sales support, proposal preparation, identifying potential opportunities, and building and maintaining contacts.

  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards, methodologies, and frameworks.
  • Skill in researching and writing technical papers and reports and effectively communicating the information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communications skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in written and oral form and able to comprehend complex oral and written direction.
  • Ability to explain complex problems and issues in understandable terms to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to multi-task and operate within critical time lines.
  • A logical and structured approach to problem solving - applying logic, reasoning, and organizational skills to structure concepts and ideas into deliverables.
  • A high degree of competency and familiarity within the industry with respect to products, services, and standards.
  • Capable of managing several assignments concurrently.
  • Ability to meet or exceed project goals and expectations and project performance metrics.
  • Attention to detail, able to accurately document process and results and maintain careful records.

 Specific or additional qualifications or certifications in a related discipline will be seen as desirable:

  • Additional years of related experience.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • PMI/PMP/Prince2
  • eTom, ITIL or similar certification
  • Implementing or auditing related ISO standards (ISO20000, ISO27000, ISO22300 etc)

This is a contract opportunity based in Jakarta. The chosen candidate must show a detailed APAC work history within IT and Telecommunications.
