On behalf of a Manchester based automotive client, we are currently looking to recruit a User Interface Designer to be involved in the development of next generation solution concepts, which will support users in the following areas:

* Dealership service reception and workshop
* Internal engineering development work

We need an experience UI designer to take initial screen concepts and ideas, generated by the team, and turn them in professional UI mock-ups, media demos, and interactive prototypes. These screen mock-ups will then be used to aid in soliciting feedback from target internal and external users.
The target platforms are a mix of web page, tablet, phone, and traditional PC, and in the case of the dealership environment, multiple platform use cases will need to be covered.
Depending on the area, target users will vary from tech savvy development engineers, to general consumers with basic technology skills Therefore, the resultant designs will need to support mix abilities.
Experience: The candidate must be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:

* More than 2 years UI design experience, working in multiple domain areas.
* Excellent graphic design skills, as well as interaction design skills.
* Interface design experience involving touch screens, tablets, mobile devices or web applications.
* Experience of modelling the content and navigation of user interface, and the creation of rapid mock-ups, media demos, and interactive prototypes.
* User-centred design methodology experience, with a focus on screen designs that are intuitive, while still being able to capable of conveying complex information.
* Knowledge of new technologies and industry trends.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to present to all levels within an organization
* Automotive engineering/technology domain knowledge would be ideal.

Alternatively a suitable individual will need to demonstrate some software or engineering knowledge, and the capability to quickly learn and understand the key aspect of this specialised area.

People skills: The candidate will be required to work with commercial and technical staff, and also customers

Education & Training: Bachelor's Degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or other new media studies (Preferred). Alternatively, and similar level of training and experience will be considered
