Position Overview:We are looking for a SQL Server Developer to join a team of 4 developers and architects to create innovative solutions for our investment divisions. You will be working with data and research departments, implementing a wide variety of databases used for research, portfolio construction and trading.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with research analysts and portfolio managers to comprehend the data needs, and data usage.
- Propose and design database solutions.
- Implement database systems based on the solutions proposed and work closely with users to test and integrate the system into the current production environment.
- Support the systems developed.
Skills:
- 4+ years of experience developing application with the focus on data and data access.
- Proven track record building large scale SQL Server databases.
- Expert level T-SQL skills and good knowledge of SQL internals.
- Experience with performance tuning, execution plans, indexed views.
- Familiarity with C# and the .NET Framework.
- Methodical and pragmatic.
- Self-starter, able to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills - both written and oral.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize work and effectively manage multiple tasks.
- Mathematics or other analytical background would be a plus.
- Prior exposure to Financial Services would be a plus.
