Developer & Support Engineer - £40,000 plus benefits

A fun and friendly software development company with customers the world over and owners of one of the most successful, up-and-coming software, products in the market are increasing their team and seek a Developer & Support Engineer to join them in Cambridgeshire.

The Developer & Support Engineer will help to support a range of digital software products including their flagship product. Providing support of a range of products and technologies predominately via email but from time to time through telephone and internet support.

Working closely with the research and development team as well as sales and product management the Developer & Support Engineer will be joining a team of self-starters, without micro-management in a professional environment.

The Developer & Support Engineer will hold the following responsibilities;

* Front line technical support such as implementing technologies into client applications, bug reporting and participating in product defect reviews.

* Provide second tier support of bespoke applications including the reproduction and investigation of problem reports and developing workarounds and entering defects into the bug-tracking system.

This position will offer a good mix of support and development. The Developer & Support Engineer will not purely be providing support but also coding workarounds and as such coding skills are a must.

The successful Developer & Support Engineer will have first class communication skills and be energetic and pro-active. You will work well as part of a close-knit team and offer technical skills such as;

* Strong, proven diagnostic and trouble-shooting skills.

* C, C# and C++ programming skills.

* Knowledge of .Net programming.

Although not essential any experience of the following would be beneficial to interested Developer & Support Engineers;

* Android or iOS development.

* Document management.

* Knowledge of graphic imaging such as TIFF, JPG and video formats.

* Exposure to Unicode and fonts.

* Able to offer technical support in French or German.

The Developer & Support Engineer will receive a salary of between £30,000 and £40,000 dependent on experience and will be accompanied by a leading benefits package. The Support Engineer will be providing support from an open-plan office in an idyllic location just off the A428 for some cutting-edge products.
