My client, a global healthcare company based in Co. Tipperary, is currently recruiting for the role of Supplier Quality Engineer. The successful candidate will provide technical support in the selection and approval of suppliers and service providers by performing supplier evaluations, monitor supplier performance to drive supplier corrective action and conduct supplier certification activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Assess potential new suppliers and service providers for technical, quality and quality systems capabilities.
- Prepare an audit report that establishes the outcome of the audit and details the non-conformances identified during the on-site audit.
- Work closely with suppliers to obtain an appropriate written corrective action response plan with estimated dates for completion.
- Tracks audit results, including corrective actions and provides follow-up to these actions, as required.
- Evaluate Exception Reports (ERs) issued for nonconforming supplied material and prepare Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) to effect resolution of root cause problems contributing to unsatisfactory supplier quality performance.
- Maintain an active role with new product development teams to assist in supplier selection and approve and provide support.
- Prepare data for presentation at the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) meetings summarising the results and status of corrective and preventive actions initiated with suppliers to strive for improvement.
- Ensure that the supplier performs and documents the appropriate engineering approach to activities such as qualification/validation and provide assistance in these efforts.
- Conduct field visits of supplier sites to bring understanding and resolution of quality problems.
- Uses computer software to measure, track and trend supplier quality performance and provide feedback to the organisation and to the supplier for continuous improvement.
- Notify suppliers of customer complaints related to device failures resulting from supplied material and requires investigation and corrective action.

Education and Experience
- National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline.
- 2+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Working knowledge and application of business concepts, procedures and practices. Will perform this job in a quality system environment.

This is a Maternity Leave Contract. The availability to travel both within Ireland and internationally will be required as part of this role.
