Our client is a multinational pharmaceutical company and is currently looking for a Supply Chain Manager. The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for planning activities regarding the suppliers (CMOs) of the client.

Location: Walloon Brabant

Duration: 6 months

Scope of work:

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the planning related activities where client sites & CMOs are involved. This includes the pharmaceutical and biologics commercial products but does not include the clinical activities except when using some commercial processes or equipments. The function also covers the master data & artwork management to guarantee the planning compliance.

Day to day:

  • Escalation of issues to top management: be pro-active about issues which can be escalated to N+1 via another party (structural problems which impact supply on the long term; or a punctual problem which has enormous impact (eg ship cargo lost at sea; production of 2 months wasted)
  • Support team/management team: help with issues resolution, guide team on how to resolve issues (related to supply of a product (forecasting problems, delivery); any issue which can impact on the planning and the delivery of the products to the end user (strike, earthquake, change of name)
  • Point of contact for top management for any questions related to the planning and delivery of a product (supply chain manager will have to check with team member in question on appropriate action eg if a product needs to be recalled, what is the impact on the delivery of the product)
  • SPOC for CMOs and subsidiaries: delivery issues, non-conform products, team management, process improvement
  • Based in Wallon Brabant; occasional travel to Switzerland/Germany/UK may be required

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the following activities:

* E2E Production & Inventory Control in order to guarantee the optimum plans for UCB sites and CMOs including allocation between sites (Braine, Bulle, Zwicau)

* Sales and Demand Planning in order to analyze the variations, challenge them and decide on the right actions with regards to those variations. The function also covers the control and coordination of launch activities

* Procurement and Outsourcing Management in order to control the full landscape, including CMOs & suppliers (application of contracts with CMOs; ensure procedures are in place in order to receive products on time; monthly meetings with major CMOs (results, performance evaluation, projects, etc)

* Rough Cut Capacity Planning in order to balancroduction constraints, capacity with flexibility and market requests (analyse the capacity of the CMO/UCB factories to deliver for a certain project)

* E2E Product Visibility in order to command, drive and control the complete flows of products from raw material procurement till deliveries to customers (tracking system needs to be updated on a daily basis; at any given moment, it needs to be clear what the stage of the delivery is, in SAP)

* Improving leadtime/cycle time for all products in order to increase flexibility & reduce inventory costs (lead time of all products at all stages; for 2014 the manager will have to work on certain lead times for certain products to improve lead time and related costs)

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years experience in Supply Chain (planning); technical knowledge of systems (SAP preferably)
  • Experience in Pharma industry
  • Experience in Project Management, Demand management, distribution is a plus
  • People Management (team from 10 to 50 people minimum; based in Braine and Bulle)
  • Fluent in English/French
  • Structured, organized, analytical, methodical
  • Self motivated, self starter
  • Convincing and communicate easily throughout various hierarchical levels
  • Able to manage & implement best practices
  • People management
  • Comfortable with IT systems
  • Ability to coach people
  • Ability to define a problem, identify root causes, select best solution, implement solutions & measure
