Senior Design Engineer opportunity in LeicesterCirca £30-34,000 plus benefits including 10% bonus opportunity
A great opportunity to join a global manufacturer of industry leading construction and material handling equipment. This exciting new role includes end to end design responsibility and is ideal for an experienced engineer seeking a varied role with room for further progression.

Responsibilities will include:
- Lead NPD Projects through the product lifecycle
- Producing full manufacturing specifications including Engineering BOMs and Drawings.
- Resolve problems at the root cause quickly and effectively and manage the engineering change process
- Follow Group standards in the areas of NPPD, FMEA, DFM, prototype development and field testing
- Reduce manufacturing cost through improved design and consultation with the production department, purchasing and suppliers.
- An ability to positively represent the company to both customers and suppliers
To carry out this role they are seeking a engineer with following skills/experience:
- Degree or HNC plus experience in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in the design of heavy equipment / machinery
- Strong 3D CAD skills and experience with PDM packages.
-Experience of Finite Element Analysis is desirable
- Experience / working knowledge of Metallurgy Welding, Casting Methods, Hydraulic system design would be beneficial though not essential
- Experience of DFMEA and Risk Assessments
- Proven track record of project managing especially in a new product development environment
