Description
My Client based in Feltham are looking for a Senior Unix Administrator for a 3 month contract, with 5+ Years commercial Unix experience. The role will be a mix of project work and BAU as the need arises. The role involves levels 1, 2 & 3 and escalation support of Production issues from Oracle Solaris running on SPARC & Red Hat Linux Infrastructure.· Solaris & Linux (Redhat) installation, administration, patching and upgrading
· General Unix services, such as DNS/BIND, Sendmail, ProFTP/SFTP, and Samba. Understanding of NFS also important.
· Good scripting in one of perl/ruby or shell
· Networking Principles (TCP/IP Networking)
· Amazon AWS and EC2 Experience.
· Exposure to EMC/SAN Storage & Netapps
· Ability to manage 3rd party suppliers for equipment specification, purchasing & support contracts
· Clustering
· Monitoring solutions such as nagios/ganglia/splunk
· Configuration Management using puppet
Experience of working in a high volume web hosting environment, and be able to demonstrate the ability to effect controlled change within a technical organisation, is essential.
