Our clients are a Saudi Arabia semi State organisation who are planning on opening four new training centres in 2014, which will help them train the next generation of Engineers. We are presently recruiting a number of Student Support Advisors.
You will be tasked in assisting students in educational and non-educational areas, while working with parents and other school administrators. This includes dealing with the students’ ability to communicate with teachers and peers, helping new students adjust to a different settings, and making sure each student maintains a positive attitude.
Your main tasks will be:
- Counsels and confers with students interpreting and providing program procedures, policies, goals and objectives, technical guidance and problem resolution
- Directing students to appropriate tutor for further program guidance.
- Assists in the identification of target groups in consultation with academic departments/programs for student recruitment;
- Makes visits to community colleges; schools, workplaces, etc.
- Initiates, develops and sustains strong positive relations with program coordinators and department heads to ensure achievement of the mission and goals of the department and polytechnic.
- Leads and implements review of polytechnic student support initiatives to ensure student, faculty and administration needs are met.
- Assists with development of goals and objectives for the student support unit, in support of the polytechnic strategic plan.
- Maintains student records on database, creates and provides reports; provides contact point for enrolled student support information.
- Develops or assists in the development and production of program advertising, promotional flyers and related recruitment initiatives.
- Participate in, and lead, student support related meetings.
- Contributes to student recruitment initiatives and participates in the evaluation of such initiatives.
- Serves as liaison with student organizations and alumni.
Requirements:
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in education, social work, counselling, community services, business administration
- Be a native English speaker and also speak Arabic
- 5 years’ experience in a similar position
- Previous experience of working in Saudi Arabia considered a huge advantage
- For cultural reasons male candidates only can be considered at this time

Salary:
