The American Museum of Natural History is seeking an HTML5 and CSS3 expert to create an online course in Moodle. The course components include images, text from Word documents, videos hosted on Vimeo, assignments, and discussions.

SCOPE OF WORK
The freelance vendor will create one online course in Moodle. The vendor will use pre-existing AMNH Moodle templates, maintaining the Museum's high standards for HTML and CSS design and development. The project work will be conducted in three phases over one month (February 2014). Please note: only vendors who are incorporated will be considered for the position, and vendors with Moodle expertise are preferred.
Phase 1 – Review
- review content files
- review Moodle templates to understand how the new course should look
- review AMNH directory structure to ensure that files are stored in the proper location
Phase 2 – Build Out
- Create course. The course consists of a home page and six weekly units. Each unit includes essays, videos, and HTML blocks.
- AMNH staff will provide feedback after the course is created and the consultant will provide one round of revisions.
Phase 3 – Test
- conduct quality assurance (cross-browser testing and link checking)
- identify and correct broken images, URLs, videos, bugs, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create new Moodle course from supplied content.
- Use the latest web standards and logical, well-structured code to import the content into Moodle.
- Work alongside a small and efficient staff to deliver the course in a timely manner.

Phase 1 – Review
- Materials made available to vendor: February 1, 2014
- Vendor reviews material: February 1-3, 2014
- Vendor consults with AMNH before build proceeds: February 3, 2014
Phase 2 – Build Out
- February 4 - 14, 2014
Phase 3 – Test
- cross-browser testing: February 17 - 21, 2014
