Support financial and business systems for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Act as a resource for ad hoc reporting and analysis. Provides options analysis to management and technical lines with regard to budget, forecasting, and synergy commitments. Serves as a single point of accountability for budget issues with partner organizations. Serves as internal consultant on business processes and/or business systems and portfolio management.

Functions with a high degree of independence and autonomy:
Provide analysis, data interpretation, commentary and reports as required to fulfil reporting and other requirements. Supports budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting for the organization and interaction with Finance groups. Develops strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Acts as budget/finance technical expert; provide business resource direction to the project teams and Co-Development teams. Sets objectives for and manages multiple projects/ongoing work activities of high complexity. Demonstrates and applies a high level knowledge of the pharmaceutical and other industries. Exhibits business expertise and an understanding of the external marketplace. Mentors leaders, peers, and colleagues on enterprise systems and business practices. Participates in strategic planning for resource management, footprint, and facilities. Participates in business continuity planning from a risk management perspective.

- Assumes responsibilities outside of their area of expertise in order to efficiently and effectively refine working practices within the department
- Creates an environment that encourages others to come up with novel ideas. Encourages and personally does innovative thinking and finds ways to further ideas via academic/industrial collaborations, internal resources and/or cross-site collaboration
- Proactively seeks to develop best practices through establishing networks
- Develops and implements creative solutions to broad business problems across Bio PharmSci and interfaces across Pharma, PharmSci, Research Units, Business Units and other key stakeholders

Skills:
  • Experience with cross-functional operational teams
  • Strong accounting/general ledger knowledge
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience with financial systems, SAP, Ariba, COGNOS a must
  • Leading-edge knowledge of principles, concepts, and practices in budgeting, forecasting and reporting as it applies to the development portfolio, department base, and capital expenditures, and extensive knowledge of principles, concepts, and practices of other management strategy with direct biotherapeutic experience.
  • Expert level skills and experience with Enterprise Applications and Microsoft Office
  • Able to identify multi-disciplinary solutions and recommend a course of action to sub-zone level management.
  • Works independently on assignments using knowledge and work experience. Gathers input from colleagues and management to address department objectives, critical issues and policy matters.
  • Works across function sub-zone and sites to test and innovate processes, hypotheses, and methodologies; displays curiosity and challenges status quo in order to innovate and drive the business
