Our global banking client in Geneva is now looking for an experienced Unix System Technical Architect to join its team on a long term basis.
Only English is required.

The Role
*Review and create technical architectures assuring they meet current industry and best practices
*Advise on key infrastructure solutions for technical projects from initiation through implementation across the broad spectrum.
*Define solid technical requirements into a supportable and workable design -which meet both the needs of the business aligned teams and the global infrastructure organization.
*Ensure technology solutions are designed and completed in accordance with all Risk, Architecture and other relevant firm-wide guidelines.
*Deliver infrastructure consultancy, design and strategy awareness to the key business and technology contacts
*Develop strong business relationships with key global counterparts, AM technology teams and core technology infrastructure teams across AM and the Asia region.
*Maintain an organization-wide view of current and future business and application architecture in support of goals and objectives.
*Provide leadership and expertise in the development of standards, architectural governance, design patterns and IT practices
*Collaborate with the Project Delivery team to ensure the success of the project delivery scope
*Collaborate with the End User service delivery team on third level troubleshooting and complex user issues.
*Establish architecture design principles, standards and processes that guide technology decisions for the enterprise.
*Be the escalation point for the AMIT strategy and engineering roadmap
Your profile:
*Must have advanced Unix (AIX, Solaris, RHEL, ESX) knowledge
*Strong understanding of virtualization models and methods
*Must have a very strong TCP and networking awareness
*Working knowledge of Wintel environments
*Understanding of SMTP and Exchange
*Understanding of Active Directory and authentication methodologies (RSA, Siteminder)
*Experience with Web Application Servers and Java containers (Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere, etc)
*Basic understanding of databases and SQL (Sybase, Oracle, MSSQL)
*Experience in security models for Servers, services, networking and database technologies
*Fluent in English
*Banking/Finance experience is mandatory
*Infrastructure delivery experience across a very broad range of technologies
*The ideal candidate has extensive background in security and understand the challenges of technical architecture in a regulatory climate.
