Purpose and Description:
This senior developer position will report to the Systems Team Leader for the California Claims Administration and will design and implement large, very complex solutions involving multiple systems. This resource will develop block diagrams and logic flow charts. Also, translate detailed design into computer software. They will support testing, debugging, and refining the computer software to produce the required product. The resource will also help prepare both program-level and user-level documentation. They will also be responsible for enhancing software to reduce operating time or improve efficiency. They will be responsible for creation of concept, design, testing and maintenance of applications and Intranet sites. Will meet frequently with staff before and during project, to ascertain requirements, and also afterwards to train staff in the proper maintenance of applications.
Essential Functions:
Design, develop, test, debug and deploy highly available applications using Microsoft technologies
Design and develop the user interface of customer-facing claim processing applications
Perform mid to expert level T-SQL programming; create tables, stored procedures, triggers, indexes, user functions, and views.
Resolve technical issues with software developed by the Application Development team.
Create documentation for technical solutions, level of efforts, logical solution designs.
Partnering with business analysts to understand project requirement and determine what and how to build and organize tables and user interfaces to fulfil the business requirements.
Communicating with business partners, project managers, business analysts and other developers.
Design and implement ETL processes using SQL Server.
Produce test cases and regression scripts
Preparing development specifications for developers to execute.
Tuning performance of large scale databases.
Required Experience:
These are the MUST HAVE items. If a candidate does not have these then they will be rejected
5+ years experience developing large scale Client Server systems
5+ years experience with .NET programming and architecting (full life cycle)
5+ years experience programming with VB.NET or C#
3+ years experience with SQL Server development
1+ years experience administering SQL Server.*we are not looking for System Administrator this is intended to show that they have a strong familiarity working with SQL Server*
3+ years experience developing with MS SharePoint.*this is a secondary requirement but it is still mandatory that they have experience developing in Sharepoint*
3+ years experience designing relational (conceptual, logical, physical) databases
Preferred Experience:

Experience in reporting tools (Business Objects, Cognos, Reporting Services).
Experience in Health Care Industry.
Experience using Visual Source Safe
Experience with Windows Server environment and IIS
Required Education:
BS degree (Computer Science concentration preferred)
