Sr. Surveyor (Inspector), Offshore Equipment - Houston, TX

The leading technical advisor group to the Oil & Gas industry is currently seeking experts in 3rd party inspections of offshore/subsea equipment to join their growing team in Houston,TX as a Sr. Surveyor (Inspector).
Job Description:
Surveyor/Inspector that will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Perform surveys (inspections) of new and used equipment during fabrication and installation destine for use in the offshore industry (subsea equipment, pipeline, risers, umbilical)
  • On site witness of welding and fabrication, various NDE methods, factory acceptance and functional testing, etc.
  • Offshore witnessing of equipment installation
  • Verification activities for a wide variety of clients.
  • Review of data packages to ensure compliance with design approval reports.
  • Co-ordinate with scheduling, project manager and client to ensure the work is performed.
  • Generate detailed reports using a supplied template describing what work was carried out and the outcome of the work performed. Detail all complete tasks related to the work and any outstanding tasks or items necessary to complete the work using a supplied template.
  • Prepare and provide activity measurement reports on a defined frequency.
  • Ensure company is presented in a professional manner to all clients and customers, managing customer relationship to improve retention, handling and monitoring customer feedback.


Position Qualifications
  • Mechanical or Electrical engineering Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in industry coupled with project management experience
  • 5 + years industry experience required
  • CWI and NDE level II or III certification preferred
  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g. ASTM testing methodologies, API 6A / 16A / 16C / 16F, API-RP-577, API 1104, etc.)
  • Previous experience with a Class Society (ABS, DNV, Lloyds, etc.) a plus.
  • Experience in auditing management systems to international standards is advantageous
  • Goal and solution oriented mindset, motivated, ambitious, and able to work independently and as a team player as the work dictates with high professional integrity.
  • Adaptable and flexible to clients schedule to meet their needs
  • Able to travel 40-50% within the US with possibility for international travel.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal, and written)
  • Use of the Microsoft office suite; Excel; Word; PowerPoint; Access
