One of our clients from the financial industry in Zurich is currently looking for a System Engineer with a strong FX background for a long term contract.
Duties
Cooperation with IT sections network, Firewall, Unix, operating, etc.
System- and Network configuration of a global Murex MX3 system:
Set-up and configuration of Systems (Linux Redhat Servers, Windows Clients, Grid Infrastructure)
Connecctivity to Oracle Databases in close collaboration with a Database Support Team
Setting up test environments and connect them to other environments Front to Back
Maintain Archiving, Purge
Provide solutions for disaster recovery and perform regular tests.
Set-up scripts to run scheduled tasks (end of day)
Set-up and maintain trade interfaces (Traiana etc.)
Required Skills:
10+ years post collegiate work experience
5+ years of experience in financial Foreign Exchange industry
Experience with FX-platforms (Fenics, Frontarena, Murex)
Understanding of FX cash and FX option trading and its life cycles
Knowledge in Precious Metals and Base Metals trading and life cycles preferred
Adequate FX pricing knowledge (verifying prices of FX products)
FX related Profit & Loss analytical know how
Front to Back FX banking processes with an emphasis on FX trading and Middle Office
Very good German and English, spoken and written
On call duty on weekends
Technical skills:
HP blade enclosure BLc7000 with blade Servers BL460c Gen8, running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.
Oracle server T51x0 and M5000, running Solaris 10
Working knowledge of the concepts of layers, IP and routing, TCP and connections, NAT, Firewalls
Working knowledge of Unix shells and Perl
Integration of applications distributed over a network
troubleshooting higher level issues on lower layers by means of eg strace, truss, snoop, tcpdump etc.
