Workplace IT Security Architect Engineer - with an emphasis on Endpoint Security
This superb position is based in the wonderful city of Berlin Monday to Friday (occasionally in London), flying home to the UK for the weekends. The position is with a very large global company.
This is a 3 months + rolling contract that is likely to last at least 1 year.
Endpoint security refers to a methodology of protecting the corporate network when accessed via remote devices such as laptops or other wireless and mobile devices. Each device with a remote connecting to the network creates a potential entry point for security threats. Endpoint security is designed to secure each endpoint on the network created by these devices.
Usually, endpoint security is a security system that consists of security software, located on a centrally managed and accessible server or gateway within the network, in addition to client software being installed on each of the endpoints (or devices).
The Workplace programme will replace every aspect of workplace systems at this leading,worldwide enterprise, moving from the current environment of traditional laptop and desktop and local PBXs to an integrated set of telephony, desktop, groupware and application delivery services available through a variety of end user devices. The Workplace IT Security Architect Engineer assists in the design of the workplace systems security controls, plans security systems, and evaluates and implements proposed solutions. He/She also serves as a security expert in various technologies and platforms that affect workplace systems (which include desktop, email, calendar/PIM, videoconferencing, telephony, virtual desktops, virtual applications, software distribution and mobile device management) as well as the specific areas (cyber security, data privacy compliance, protection of information assets and systems from security threats) under the guidance of the IS Security Office. The Workplace IT Security Architect Engineer contributes to the development and maintenance of workplace IT security strategy, ensuring the implementation and operation of the appropriate security controls are aligned with IT security policies and standards and regulatory or contractual requirements.
The role
Security Services (50% of the role): Designs and Implementation of core security services (malware protection, technical compliance, endpoint device management) so that information on IT systems is appropriately protected from a wide variety of problems including unauthorized disclosure, unauthorized use, inappropriate modification, premature deletion, and unavailability
System Security (the other 50% of the role):
Interprets information security policies, standards, and other requirements as they relate to specific workplace IT systems. Supports the established risk management and IT asset classification processes and assists IT Applications and Infrastructure organizations in the selection and requirement of security controls in accordance with business impact and risk.
