Description
We are looking for a Senior Designer for the Windows Communication team.
Our team is responsible for the development of client's communication interfaces.
Our clients are financial institutions (banks, broker-dealers, and other institutions managing securities) located around the world.
As a Senior Designer, you will:
- act as Technical authority for the client's communication interface program, following-up on the latest evolutions of the Microsoft platform.
- be responsible for delivering and maintaining (in close collaboration with the IT Infrastructure teams and the outsourcing partner) the design and coding guidelines for distributed development.
- be in contact with the IT Infrastructure teams to provide them with clear and complete information on the application technical context and physical topology.
- cooperate actively with the IT Infrastructure teams to define the evolution of the technical frameworks used for the development of distributed applications.
- work in close collaboration with Component Management and Tooling teams to define tooling evolutions and best practices (Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, Third party frameworks).
- work in close collaboration with functional designers for delivering technical designs within the time and budget set and with the required quality (ie according to business requirements and design guidelines).
- be the representative of distributed development in the Design and Build Advisory board and be responsible to organise the communication towards the community of designers and builders working in the distributed environment.
- deliver a set of high level designs in the area of complex projects or programs and the corresponding budget and planning for project baselining.
- act as coach for several design and build experts
- cooperate in a constructive way with the stakeholders of all projects or maintenances impacting your domain of expertise (eg review business requirements, support build and integration, ), and maintain your design products until the deployment with the same discipline as during the design phase
- trigger and take part in initiatives aiming at improving productivity of the design skill and the quality of the delivered products
- provide an efficient support to 1st and 2nd line support teams
Your Profile:
The ideal candidate should have at least 5y experience as a Designer.
Technical skills required:
- VB.NET
- Web 2.0 - Javascript (JQuery), HTML, CSS
- Team Foundation Server
- Standard development patterns (eg M.V.C.)
- Cross-platforms integration mechanisms (eg MQ Series, Connect Direct,)
- SQL Server
Soft skills:
- You are meticulous in your work
- You demonstrate good communication and negotiation skills
- You speak/write English fluently; French or Dutch is an asset
This position is for 6 months starting as soon as possible.
