Chase Resourcing’s client, a multinational financial house is undertaking a project to replace their existing Payments system used throughout EMEA and NA with a new Payment Services solution. To facilitate this rollout, and future testing, candidates with the following skills/knowledge are sought:
Position Responsibilities/Duties:
The Senior WebSphere Administrator is an IT engineer with responsibility for installing and administering the Enterprise WebSphere Application system. This includes the configuration of the WebSphere Application Server for the ever growing number of applications that are being ported to the WebSphere. The role also includes the on-going maintenance and management of the WebSphere Enterprise Domain and ensuring the company is in a position for expansion in the future.
You will be responsible for designing and developing solutions, troubleshooting issues promotion of the enterprise application through the SDLC process. The WebSphere Administrator will be responsible for new development, on-going maintenance and Production support of our enterprise applications which are deployed on a WebSphere platform.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Build, Manage, Deploy and Support of the WebSphere tool suite (IBM HTTP Server, WebSphere, WebSphere Portal, MQ Server).
- Applying maintenance changes (within the Change Management Process)
- Expertise in WebSphere clustering and running on a virtualized environment
- Applying WebSphere patches & upgrades.
- Driving the investigation and resolution of issues effectively.
- Contributing and participating in putting new deployments in place.
- Delivery of project based work to agreed target dates.
- Automation of the enterprise application deployment process (Strong JACL Expertise).
- Provide industry best practices in the IBM WebSphere domain.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to team members.
Experience/Knowledge Requirements:
- Expertise in Maven & Ant
- IBM WebSphere Certification
- Experience in WebSphere upgrades, patching and troubleshooting
- Demonstrate strong Business and Systems Analysis skills.
- Knowledge of platforms, e.g. Solaris (x86), Linux
- Strong scripting competence to program scripts and batch files (Shell, Perl, Python, etc…)
- Demonstrate ability to work to strict deadlines and under pressure.
- Familiarity with the SDLC lifecycle including release management, software installation techniques and troubleshooting.
- Experience of working in agile teams using Scrum or other agile methodology would be an advantage.
