I'm currently recruiting for 1 Lead/ senior mechanical engineer & 1 Mechanical engineer for a petro-chem project starting in the new year.This is a potentially a long contract basis, 12+ month, Based in the London area
Rate Negotiable.
The position will have experience and knowledge of one or more of the following areas of mechanical operations gained in a POLYMER project (essential):
* Solids conveying (dense and dilute phase)
* Extruder platforms
* Gas phase and/or slurry reactors
The Lead/Senior Mechanical Engineer will report to the Project Engineering Manager on the project and to the Chief Mechanical Engineer functionally. They will be responsible for all mechanical engineering activities on project which includes rotating equipment, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, fired equipment, packaged equipment, mechanical handling equipment and HVAC. Project activities include overview and management of conceptual studies, FEED, detailed engineering, testing and inspection through to site support (startup/commissioning).
Supervisory responsibilities for the specific project mechanical group- must demonstrate good leadership skills. Must be able to undertake duties below and lead others delivering the same at engineer level
* Planning, reporting and change control, - must be able to plan and control mechanical group activities through to successful project completion. Specifications, data sheets and issue of material requisitions
* Bid evaluation and selection of suppliers
* Post award management of suppliers including document review, inspection at their works, chair progress meetings and liaison with design groups
* Thorough knowledge of design codes and industry standards for your area of expertise
* Good knowledge of other disciplines needs and deliverables as related to mechanical engineering
* Opportunities for international travel and work
Qualifications Required:
* The candidate should have a Degree in Mechanical Engineering
* The candidate should ideally be a Chartered engineer
* The candidate should have in depth and relevant experience in the position of a Lead /Senior Mechanical engineer and currently working in the petrochemical/polymer industries.
