Senior Storage Specialist - Belgium
My client based in Ghent and Brussels, Belgium are currently looking for a Senior Storage Specialist. This is a 4 month contract starting in January for an international technology company. You must have fluent English both spoken and written and Dutch and/or French would be a plus.
The Storage System Engineer (SE) is responsible for day to day management of the storage environment.
You will processes assigned tickets or calls, perform diagnostics on problems and solves them.
Next to this, you will also write procedures to solve recurring problems and searches for ways to improve efficiency.
Being in direct contact with other SEs regularly, you should be communicative and fluent in English.
Good analytic skills and self-knowledge are also required.
Work location: Gent. Later possibly Brussels.
Contract extensions are common.
Technical skills:
In depth knowledge of Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM), preferable on Mainframe: experience in maintaining and problem solving on TSM Servers
IBM's Enterprise Storage Subsystems,
o Experience with DS8000, DS6000, DS and SAN Volume Controller (SVC)
o Good knowledge in LUN assignments, LUN mapping and masking SAN (Brocade 48000, DCX)
o experience with SAN fabrics, preferably with Brocade products
o experience with SAN zoning and port configurations
o Knowledge about AIX (network, LVM skills, ...)

Fluent in English, both writing and speaking. Good knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a plus.
Participation on-call 24/7 required
