The opportunity:

Deputy IT Manager - To manage the Trust's IT Team responsible for Commissioning and Primary Care ensuring the provision and development of appropriate IT support services.

To contribute to and, in some cases lead, design and manage trust-wide IM&T projects in connection with the development of services and / or the implementation of national or local IM&T projects.

To contribute to and, in some cases, lead the development of the Commissioning and Primary Care IT infrastructure including telecommunications.

Contribute to the development of IM&T Strategy in respect of the Commissioning, Primary Care and Trust organisations.

Act as a source of professional advice for staff.

To demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous service improvement.

PUBLIC SECTOR EXPERIENCE A MUST

The successful candidate will:

- Management and reporting of GP Practice IT maintenance budgets (GPSoC and general IT maintenance budgets).

- Act as the IT Service Account Manager for GP Practices including handling escalation of support calls, supporting practices with Clinical IT System business cases and acting as a source of professional advice.

- In conjunction with administrative support staff, ensure that local documentation and the national tracking database is maintained.

- Technical review of quotations, order and invoice approval.

- Management of NHSnet and wide area networking services for the CCG and GP Practices.

- In conjunction with local helpdesk and administrative staff, ensure that the National NHSMail system is supported locally including supporting local connectors, password management, generic account management, user support and associated guidance.

Responsible for leading and managing Commissioning and Primary Care IT service support staff and working within the wider IT Department to ensure that a resilient staffing skill base is maintained.
