Summary: Plan, direct, or coordinate activities in Finance Projects in the Controllership and Transactional finance areas.
Responsible for managing all aspects of assigned projects - full life cycle (planning and requirements through construction, testing and implementation - per IT standards for project management (IT-PMM) and Governance Check-point processes)
SAP FI/CO experience strongly preferred.
Obtains, sometimes determines, staffing requirements and forms project teams
Develops detailed project plans and schedules using established standards.
Provides work direction and leadership to assigned project teams, including scheduling, assignment of work and review of project efforts.
Proactively monitors the project plan (milestones and critical path dates), identifying and resolving issues and assessing variances.
Gathers metrics, and develops and implements changes (per standard approval processes) to ensure that the project remains within scope, and is within time, cost and quality objectives.
Provides the team with constructive feedback as it pertains to project performance.
Instructs personnel within the projects on project management methods, tools or processes
Education/Experience:
Bachelor degree required.
PMI certification preferred.
8-10 years experience in a IT project management role or relevant IT leadership experience
Project experience including Controllership and Transactional Finance Technologies (ie SAP ECC (FICO) required
Retail and/or CP&G (Consumer Products & Goods) experience preferred.
Experience leading process development and implementation
Knowledge of Project Management principles and IT project life cycle methodologies
Additional Job Details:
The candidate in this role will be helping lead two key finance projects. The first involves a global corporate card initiative, where Company is rolling out corporate cards to all employees on a global scale. The impact to IT involves making sure one of their finance tools, Concur, interfaces correctly with the new bank. The candidate will be helping manage the change management, retesting all the new interfaces with new bank, and coordinating back to IT team, among other duties. The second major project involves implementing a new treasury system and replacing certain SAP processes. Experience with SAP experience is required, and FICO experience specifically. The candidate needs to be able to manage large teams, including vendors & partners, up to 20-30 people. Not everyone will be necessarily reporting directly into this person, but they will be working on the projects. The communication skills of the candidate need to be excellent, as they're communicating up to senior leadership.

Responsible for the management of one or more medium-sized projects of varying levels of risk, impact, and complexity
Drives timely decisions in the context of assigned project with respect to scope, schedule, costs/benefits
Gathers multiple sources of project related data and input (technical, business functional, financial), then summarize and draw conclusions for IT leadership to take project based decisions and action against. Results articulate the so what of the analysis and the appropriate course of action IT should follow relative to the project
Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with project sponsors, vendors and key clients
Directly interfaces with business leadership (Directors/Sr. Directors) to understand and clarify business needs and strategies relative to assigned projects
Work with all levels of IT staff and leadership to communicate project progress and results
Collaborates with all levels of IT as part of the Matrix-based project team to plan and drive execution (on-time, budget, scope), demonstrating flexibility in an ambiguous working environment.
