Description
GIS Specialist required for a professional services company based in London. This is contract role working alongside an Analytical research team in the West End area. Excellent communication skills and a project driven background are essential for this role, as well as a good grounding in GIS Application.
GIS Core responsibilities
- Production of high quality and bespoke GIS output (for research reports and presentations), both online and hard-copy.
- Strategic planning including GIS system development and presentation of cartographic/GIS imagery.
- GIS application development - developing desktop and web GIS applications for client and/or internal use.
- Provide expert advice and information regarding GIS and data analysis, especially relating to residential property market research.
- Acquisition and managing relevant datasets
Additional responsibilities- GIS Specialist
- Production of customised cartography, geodata modelling and forecasting and data management.
- Feedback observations and ideas to the research team to improve range of products & services.
- Other tasks as directed by the immediate line manager.
GIS Skills, experience and qualifications
- 3 years + direct GIS experience (housing research skills helpful)
- High-level expertise with ESRI ArcGIS suite - ArcGIS 9.3 (or above), ArcIMS, ArcOnline and additional extensions
- Good experience of Microsoft Office, specifically word-processing, spreadsheet and presentation packages.
- Some database experience preferred - SQL and Access
- Good interpersonal & communication skills
