On behalf of our client in the Life Science industry, Harvey Nash is looking for an RNC Configuration/Deployment Manager for a 6 month project in Switzerland.

The role is about designing and implementing measures in the area of configuration/change/release management and processes; introducing and updating the required methods and standards, systems and tools. The RNC Configuration/Deployment Manager would report to Informatics Project Manager and work with Technical and Test Leads to define, document and manage configuration requirements and standards for code management.

You are responsible for:

  • Ensuring proper usage of the version control system (Subversion) and that the code is checked in with descriptive comments
  • Working closely with Development team leads, TPMs and SMs who need to enforce that standards are followed
  • Monitoring how code management is performed
  • Documenting and communicating standards to relevant stakeholders
  • To be the single point of contact (SPOC) for all changes into Non-Production environments ie major/minor releases, system upgrades, system patches etc.
  • Having a holistic view of changes and ensuring that all aspects of deployments, both technical and non-technical, are covered
  • Coordinating deployment communications, preparations and confirm deliverables ie release notes, IQ/OQs, etc
  • Ensuring that the system meets informatics quality standards
  • Reducing production operational issues at the outset of production releases
  • Minimizing impacts for production releases and in case the need requires, allowing recovery actions to quickly take place in a controlled and planned manner ie the proper rollback procedures are followed to restore the environment in the previous state.
  • Providing control for situations where concurrent changes are occurring
  • Coordinating all project teams associated with the current deployment
  • Facilitating team communication to ensure that all deployment components are implemented according to a schedule
  • Proactively suggesting activities to improve process, delivery and quality
  • Establishing basic communication standards and processes between Deployment Management and other interfacing teams
  • Proactively addressing and planning long term hardware and software resource needs of the team.

    Requirements:

  • This role requires flexibility to work extended hours as needed in order to meet the needs of a global project.
  • Must be fluent in English language.
