An exciting 6 month contract has opportunity has arisen for an immediate start. To support my clients plans to become a world class digital retailer and to mitigate perceived equity risks, delivery of robust information security controls and solutions are critical. To ensure delivery in this area we are looking to recruit an Information Security - Technical Specialist, to be based in our Liverpool Head Office.

Key responsibilities for an Information Security - Technical Specialist will include;
  • Driving technology based projects for the Information Security function.
  • Establishing and providing security input to technical solution design and feeding into architecture and governance.
  • Maintain Risk, Issue and Change registers for information security, with focus on strong risk management skills and discipline, interlocking with appropriate business areas.
  • Execution of information security strategy in support of business goals.
  • Maintenance of Information security strategy in support of business goals.
  • Take action, where necessary, in response to Audit findings and recommendations in respect of information security.
  • Advise projects on matters relating to information security.
  • Maintain currency with security and security enhancing technologies.
  • Security incident response, resolution and handling.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems information security controls and security patch compliance.
  • Understanding of all Information security controls and security patch compliance.
  • Understanding of all Information Security related regulatory obligations.
  • Be able to review and comment upon architectural and solution design for all information security systems, such as but not limited to;
    • Network Intrusion Detection and Prevention
    • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
    • eCommerce / Business systems and hosting
    • eMail Filtering
    • Digital Rights Management and Data Leakage controls
    • Firewall systems
    • Anti-Malware products, principles and management
    • Access control and user identity provisioning systems
    • Security log analysis and reporting
    • Mobile device security
  • Physical security of IS assets, including data centres, server systems and portable storage media


About You

Based from our Liverpool Head Office, the position of Information Security - Technical Specialist represents a great opportunity to operate within a critical function at the heart of a world leading digital retailer. The successful candidate shall be educated to OND or a similar level and be able to demonstrate relevant industry experience. An understanding of the core principles of Information Security will be essential and the attainment of industry recognised professional qualifications such as CISSP, ENCE, ITIL etc would be advantageous. The successful candidate shall possess strong knowledge and understanding in a variety of technical aspects of IT and Information technology, including but not limited to;

Networking (Both LAN & WAN), Firewall technologies, Anti-Malware, IRM/DLP, Operating Systems, Middleware & Sub-Systems, eMail filtering, anti-Spam technologies, Systems security controls and validation, patch management, network intrusion detection, user ID approvals and provisioning methodologies, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, effective security countermeasures, vulnerability assessment and testing. A back ground in anti-fraud and cybercrime disciplines would be advantageous.
