Based in The Netherlands on a long term contract the Contamination Control Engineer will work within the group System Particle Contamination Control which is responsible for optimising the scanner performance by providing the means and methods to prevent, detect, analyse, predict and eliminate particle contamination sources in the scanner.

Job Mission;
*Specifying the requirements with respect to materials and scanner contamination risk and furthermore for proper execution of the requirements.
To ensure proper qualification of systems with respect to materials usage and contamination. The Focus area is EUV systems.

Job Description;
* Supports the specification of the necessary particle cleanliness within (part of) the system, in order to achieve the desired functionality.
* Comes up with means and methods and performs the tests to verify the specifications.
* Provides tools and knowledge of detecting, mimicking and controlling particles in motion and on surfaces.
* Provides materials and coatings for improvement of an overall (contamination) machine performance as well as the knowledge of material characterisation methods (measurement techniques).
* Provides knowledge of analysing particle chemical composition by the use of state-of-the-art analytical (spectroscopy) techniques
* Achieves results by literature search, experimental testing or supervision of external research activities.
* Combines experimental results, literature data and theoretical considerations to come to an understanding of particle distribution and deposition behaviour which should form an input for performance improvement proposals
* Is responsible for the proper documentation of specifications, supporting calculations, and tests.
* Focus area will be particle contamination control of EUV Sources

Education;
MSc or PhD in chemical engineering, chemistry, physics, mechanical engineering or similar

Experience;
* Solid experimental and/or theoretical experience in the area of flow and transport of particles in vacuum, contamination control, cleaning of surfaces, contamination metrology.
* In addition knowledge in the area of photochemistry, plasma physics and/or thin film technology is a pre.
* Strong knowledge on Matlab.

Personal skills;
* Candidate should be able to work independently in a dynamic explorative environment
* Robust personality is a must
