We at Busines staff have been retained by a San Diego County client in search of an Equipment Engineer in a long-term contract role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support Total Preventive & Maintenance Program and acts as the lead for the team of technicians in improving equipment performance.
  • Evaluate, inspect, maintain, analyze and improve various types of equipment, including electronic and mechanical.
  • General duties include monitoring and overseeing of existing equipment and the production of new equipment, as well as coordinating extensive and complex calibrations and repairs.
  • Schedule preventative maintenance, coordinate upgrades and enhancements in equipment.
  • Provides expertise at engineering level to optimize OEE.
  • Provides decision-making information to management by calculating capacity, performance, and equipment costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Confers with vendors to determine specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates equipment according to specifications and quality standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Production/Industrial/Automotive), or equivalent experience.
  • 4 years or equivalent electronics manufacturing equipment experience.
  • Understanding PLC, ACDC motors, pneumatic systems, and sensors.
  • Experience with SMD pick and place machines, reflow ovens and selective soldering equipment.
  • History of root cause analysis and implementation of effective corrective actions.
  • Knowledgeable in use of QCC, FMEA, SPC tools and project management.

Contract rate is $55 to $65/HR.
