NFT Failover/Resilience Analyst, Unix, Linux, Oracle, Middleware apps, London/Manchester or Bournemouth

This role will assist the Test Manager/Test Lead in the analysis, preparation and execution of failover/resiliency tests for a Payments solution.

Accountabilities:

  • Work as an integral part of a team of failover/ resilience testing specialists in delivering a high quality testing service to the Payments programme.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the non-functional requirements
  • Define the tests that will be required to prove the NFRs
  • Test execution be that automated or manual, depending on the requirement
  • Timely and accurate gathering of all test results, metrics and analysis statistics from all components within scope and produce standardised reports as defined by the Test Lead.
  • Ensure communication channels with NFT management are always maintained.

Key Skills

  • Must have extensive experience (minimum three years) in failover/resilience/Disaster Recovery/OAT testing, specifically of Middleware and database intensive applications.
  • Must have extensive experience in scoping/designing failover tests.
  • Must have very good communication skills; verbal and written.
  • Must have extensive hands-on experience of UNIX/ Linux at a command line level.
  • Must have extensive hands-on experience of Oracle databases.
  • Must have extensive hands-on experience of Middleware applications; WAS, Tuxedo and MQ
  • Should have a working knowledge of HP Quality Centre.
  • Desirable to have a working knowledge of interpreting output from monitoring toolsets ie      AWR, Wily, Team Quest and NMON.
  • Desirable to have experience using HP LoadRunner, particularly with respect to Middleware ie MQ and database testing.
  • Desirable to have good experience in using SQL
  • Desirable to have payments domain knowledge, particularly SEPA
  • Desirable to have payments application knowledge
