Project Manager needed in St Paul, MN for 2 + year long contract!

Client is seeking a Project Manager (PM) for the automated information systems replacement system project. The new system, will allow the client to meet changing business needs and to improve reporting.

This staff augmentation position is needed to assist client project staff on the project. The scope of this work for the project encompasses the design, development, implementation and transition of an the new integrated system.

Tasks

  • Lead war room (aka Solution Center ) for increased customer/user responsiveness immediately before and after major releases. This will include planning, training, coordination and communication across business and technology disciplines.
  • Work with client business staff to coordinate the development of user acceptance testing including writing testing scripts, scheduling testing, identifying the skills needed for testers, monitoring and tracking testing results and working with business staff when determining whether a work-around solution can be employed to address a system defect.
  • Assist business staff with the determination of the type of training that will be most effective for our business partners.
  • Coordinate the training schedule and the Learning Management System.
  • Provide mentoring so that business staff understands how to assess whether technology applications are effectively meeting business needs.
  • Work with business staff to develop the process to be used for scanning of documents, and other business processes as needed.
  • Train business staff on the new system so that they will be able to make changes to the system foundation such as fee changes or other changes dictated by changes in statutes, rules, policies and/or processes.
  • Train staff in development and management of business process documentation.
  • Provide mentoring on the oversight of the establishment of standard operating procedures (SOP's) for all business related activities.
  • Assist with the development of a central repository that will replace existing resources that house various types of resource material.

Minimum Qualifications    

All qualifying experience must be at the professional level in an IT environment to include:

  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in developing/documenting business processes, writing business/project plans, technical documents, presentations and      proposals
  • Minimum of 10 years of demonstrable experience with operational best practices.
  • The candidate should have experience in working with structured Standard Operating Procedures, system development methodologies, in addition to, Service Delivery and Service Support expertise
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working with large software development projects that emphasized software development best practices
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Change and Release Management, Incident and Problem Management
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience demonstrating awareness of business priorities and objectives.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a customer service-related role where the number of customers/clients exceeded (50) fifty.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of State Government and IT processes and practices
  • Experience working with SharePoint
