My Client a leading investment company, is undertaking a multi-year program to establish a comprehensive portfolio management (PM) platform to streamline the monitoring, rebalancing and trading of large investment funds in order to reduce risk and improve overall investment outcomes.

This role involves working within a cross-functional agile (Scrum) team, taking a lead in design and development activities, with a focus on user interface (UI) and middle-tier solution components.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design, develop and test code to meet application requirements
* Work with product owners to review requirements and provide solution estimates
* Work with engineers across the wider project to coordinate on solution approaches
* Comply with architectural and coding standards
* Work with your team to plan delivery tasks and to track adherence to the plan
* Raise issues in a timely manner and take steps to address
* Follow and contribute to improvements in the team's agile and engineering practices.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics
* 6+ years' experience as a Software Engineer building enterprise-class applications

Development experience to include:

* C#/WPF, Java, PLSQL
* Prism/MVVM, Spring, JUnit, MSTest, WebServices
* Git
* Linux, UNIX
* Full project life cycle experience, including requirements gathering, design, development, system test, user acceptance testing
* Experience with Agile delivery principles and practices, preferably Scrum-based, and on agile engineering
* development practices
* Must be able to work under minimum supervision and be a team player
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Proven customer-facing skills
* Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills
* Ability to adapt to a dynamic business environment.

Desirable Skills
* Expertise with .NET development (4.0 / 4.5)
* Javascript, HTML
* Visual Studio, Eclipse, Tomcat, Maven, Jenkins, MSBuild
* Hibernate, iBatis, jQuery, XML
* Automated unit testing and acceptance testing practices and related tools, including Cucumber, MSTest, CodedUI (SpecFlow), JUnit
* Experience in continuous integration frameworks and technologies
* Working with Java-based webservices and Oracle databases
* Knowledge of the Financial Services or Mutual Fund industry.
