Core Data Strategies, Global Investment Bank, London, PermanentA global prestigious Investment bank are looking for an experienced Index/ETF specialist with SQL and Scripting experience to sit within their Securities Strats team. Feed handling experience is also highly beneficial ( MSCI / FTSE / Markit/ Netik / Delta One ).
As a SQL Developer with scripting experience, you will be target the data needs and requirements of the front office. You will deliver technology driven solutions for normalizing and analyzing real-time and reference data from a large number of sources, both inside and outside of the firm. You will be working globally and will also capture around 500GB a day of high frequency real time data globally, covering Equities, FX, Commodities and Credit for both cash and derivatives. This is used by the desks for algo backtesting and trading.
You will need to be a highly technical individual with experience designing and developing complex parallel computing architectures, electronic trading tools, and advanced algorithms. Experience is required in SQL and Perl, Python or Ruby etc. Strong low-level/system optimization skills) or reference/Big Data. (Application of databases to loading and manipulating financial data.
Familiarity with many data sources and the ability to think about loading new data sources.)
Skills Required:
SQL and Python, Perl or Ruby
Experience in a low latency/real time or big data environment
Feed Handling experience (FTSE, Markit, Delta One)
Front office experience is preferred or experience in high pressured environment
Database platforms include: Sybase ASE, Sybase IQ, ParAccel
