Description

We're building the next generation of server-side imaging systems - publicly on GitHub. Our library http://imageresizing.net/ is the current leader.

This means melding functional programming, optimized C, and clean javascript into fast, on-demand image proccessing pipelines. Our users already credit us with making their jobs easier; now we're focused on making RESTful imaging effortless.

We've never tolerated technical debt, and we're not about to start now. It's clean or it doesn't go out; unit tests or it doesn't exist.

Working full-stack with multiple languages - while keeping a clean codebase  and API - requires passion and a streak of perfectionism.

We truly value quality over volume. If previous management has frustrated you with unwillingness to authorize refactoring and refinements - you'll probably find Imazen an excellent fit.

We can guarantee you won't be bored. As a general rule, we typically don't do stuff that's been done (well) before.

1099-contract basis, 30-40hrs/week expected, 1 month paid trial period.

Excellent written communication skills required. Your code should be self-documenting. You should eschew boilerplate and indirection. Your API design should be simple and consistent; your algorithms should be loophole free, or strongly documented. You should be multi-platform and multi-lingual; unafraid of pointers, interop, and the command line.
