Help plan and execute key communications activities and events predominantly for the manufacturing site's internal audience, with some external communications/activities required as applicable.

Support most internal communications activities, including employee newsletters, messaging and presentations as needed; share in planning and executing key employee events, provide communications support to other sites as needed, and provide overall communications and public relations support to the Community and Government Affairs function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide content oversight and technical support for the Electronic Bulletin Board, and the company Web site.
  • Assist with site-wide special events, including milestone events (eg, ground breakings, dedications, etc.) as needed.
  • Serve as a writer/basic designer of the company web site's news publications in conjunction with a team.
  • Support outreach activities, which can include bi-monthly Adopt-a-Highways, semi-annual Beach Clean Up activities, and other varied charitable causes.
  • If necessary, work with the team to develop press releases, media alerts, and act as an associate member of the Communication Commission.
  • Help provide photography for site activities.
  • Assist with brand management and compliance Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS:

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications or Journalism/other comparable degree required.
  • Basic writing for news media (AP style) skills required Internal publication (including online) writing, design and layout skills required
  • Basic photography skills required
  • Overall excellent oral and written communications skills required
  • High degree of interpersonal and organizational skills required
  • Leadership and team building skills desired
  • Experience in planning and coordinating special events preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in communications/public relations preferred
  • Experience in chemical industry preferred.
